 Blog Welcome!

Hi everybody!  This is SweetSailorRosalina making the fist post just to welcome you to my new blog!  This idea came about for a few reasons, the main one of which was all the thoughts I have about games, the industry itself, and all the cool mods for games that I find!  Rather than just reviews, the content I plan to share here will do a variety of things, such as provide my own insight as to goings on in the wider gaming world or topics I'd just like to cover when it comes to certain games.  I tend to play more retro games than newer ones these days, so the blog name in a way tries to imbibe that feel.  Going back to classic things we know well can be fun, and I certainly hope my thoughts maybe connect with at least one other person out there!  Anyhow, Welcome to Still Playing Sunshine!  Been a bit since my E3 article but we're back again with a topic I've been using to stream on Twitch!  Today, I'm going to talk about a little application called RomStation.  This isn't some fancy Playstationesque device, but rather a front to download games on for PC.  This includes games for almost all systems you can imagine too, from Gamecube to Saturn to even arcade.  Past just the regular games you can find on here are a special type of game that form the reason I wanted to talk about this- Romhacks! The Art of Modded Speedrunning

       Most speedrunning sites will tell you that modding is against the rules and disqualifies any official run you do.  One only has to take a look at Speedrun.com to discover that.  To be sure, there are mods out there that absolutely should be avoided for speedrunning- anything that changes the speed of the game or messes with the gameplay shouldn't really be in use because you'd be giving yourself an unfair advantage over other speedrunners who are getting times on a level playing ground.  This could include things like Smash Ultimate gameplay mods or difficulty adjusters/damage reduction for Dark Souls.  These do change things up and allow different experiences, but that experience also changes the core of the game to a degree and therefore would be and is something that disqualifies official speedruns (These rules even apply to things like Games Done Quick and other big events), though it makes very little sense to file cosmetic mods under ...

Dawn of War IV Coming Next Year!

  Gamescom's Opening Night Live had a whole bunch of announcements to make, but there was definitely an unexpected few among them.  One of those few was the surprise announcement that. hot off the heels of Relic Entertainment releasing a remastered version of the original Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War  and all of it's expansions, We are in fact getting a new entry in the series after 9 years.  Almost a decade after the lackluster reception of Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War III  seemed like it may have prematurely ended the series, Iron Harvest  developer KING Art Games has announced they are the developers of Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War IV .   KING Art Games has said that while they want to take good elements from both of the first two games, the original game is their "Guiding Star" in terms of how they want to approach this title.  Here's what we know about it so far: 4 unique factions at launch- Space Marines, Orks, Necrons, and the compl...
